Hoshiarpur (Punjab), India, a Post Graduate, Multi Faculty, Co-Educational college is a premier Institution of the Rural Area in District Hoshiarpur (Punjab), which was established in 1946 before the partition of India by HIS HOLINESS `SANT BABA HARI SINGH JI KAHARPURI’, the Founder President of Sikh Educational Council, with a missionary zeal of providing Higher Education to the boys and girls in general and particularly belonging to the Rural, Backward and Kandi areas, who were not able to go to other cities for Higher Education. It is the oldest educational institute of higher learning in rural & pre partitioned India and one of the oldest amongst premier Institutions of Higher Education in the north of India. The college is situated on Hoshiarpur Chandigarh Road at a distance of 22 kilometres from Hoshiarpur, 37 Kilometres from Phagwara, 35 Kilometres from Nangal Dam and 45 Kilometres from Una (Himachal Pradesh) in the foot hills of Shivalik Range of Hills. The college is spread over 200 Kanals of land with imposing buildings in lush green, pollution free environment, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. As we stand on the threshold of a new academic session, I extend a hearty and warm welcome to all my students, staff and parents. Being at the spearhead of this prestigious pre-independence institution is a most honorable and, at the same time, a highly daunting task. I take this opportunity to thank the Management, Sikh Educational Council for giving me the chance to serve the community here.
Each academic year is a new height scaled, another dream realized with new targets set for the future. Each and every member of this Institution is devoted to turning dreams & aspirations into reality through sincerity and perseverance.
From the current session, the NEP-2020 has come into play opening up not only new vistas, opportunities and courses but challenges also. There is a huge diversification in education from formal to professional and vocational courses which shall help our youth realize their potential and dreams. We have braced ourselves both to realize the dreams and vision of the policy-makers and, more importantly, to equip our students with the needed skill-set for their bright and successful future.
With a view to unfold hidden potential and develop multifaceted personality that help the aspirants in the world of work, the College lays special emphasis on sports, extra-curricular activities, seminars and workshops. The Scholarship/Stipend forms can be collected at the time of admission. The students eligible for scholarship / stipend must submit these forms along with their admission form duly completed in all respects and attested by the appropriate authorities. The scholarship/stipend form not submitted by the due date notified by the college will not be entertained.
Students belonging to SC/OBC/Minority Communities must apply on-line for the scholarship before the due date.
