Football Nursery of Asia • Arjuna Awardees • PU Champions
The College has occupied a noteworthy place in the sports history of India and is popularly known as a 'FOOTBALL NURSERY OF ASIA'. Footballer Jarnail Singh (Arjuna Awardee) and Gurdev Singh Gill (Arjuna Awardee) are the glorious production of S.G.G.S. Khalsa College Mahilpur. The College possesses well-maintained sports grounds and facilities for games such as football, hockey, cricket, basketball, volleyball, athletics and various indoor games. The College also has an ultra-modern gymnasium and a hall for indoor games. It is one of the very few colleges in India to possess its own fabric. It is a matter of great honour that the Football team (Men) won the Panjab University A Division Football Championship for the last 20 years regularly and the Women team also won the Football Championship of the Panjab University.
Football — Nursery of Asia
Popularly known as the 'Football Nursery of Asia', the college produced legendary Arjuna Awardees Jarnail Singh and Gurdev Singh Gill. Men's team won PU A Division Championship 20+ years consecutively.
Women Football Champions
The Women Football team also won the Panjab University Football Championship, reflecting the college's dominance in football at both men's and women's levels.

S.G.G.S. Khalsa College regularly stands among the top colleges in Panjab University sports. The college stood 2nd overall in PU Championship 2016-17 and consistently wins medals across disciplines.

S.G.G.S. Khalsa College Mahilpur won total 18 medals (Gold-3, Silver-10, and Bronze-5) in Panjab University Gymnastics Inter College Tournament 2016-2017. Our college student Gagan was declared Best Gymnast of the Tournament. Overall S.G.G.S. Khalsa College Mahilpur stood Second in Panjab University Championship 2016-2017.

10 Silver medals were secured across various gymnastics events, reflecting the consistent and competitive performance of our gymnastics team throughout the tournament.
5 Bronze Medals
5 Bronze medals completed the college's remarkable total of 18 medals — one of the strongest performances by any single institution in the Panjab University gymnastics championship.
Best Gymnast — Gagan
Student Gagan of S.G.G.S. Khalsa College Mahilpur was declared the Best Gymnast of the Tournament — a remarkable individual achievement at the university level championship.
2nd Overall — PU Championship
S.G.G.S. Khalsa College Mahilpur stood Second Overall in the Panjab University Championship 2016-17, a remarkable collective achievement for the entire institution.
PU Prize Distribution — 30 March 2016
Panjab University Annual Prize Distribution Function held on 30-03-2016 by Directorate of Sports PU Chandigarh. Football team awarded Trophy for 1st position. Six players honoured ₹21,000/- each for representing PU in All India Inter University Football Championship (1st Position).

6 Students Selected for All India Boxing Inter-Varsity Camp 2016-17
S.G.G.S. Khalsa College Mahilpur had an outstanding performance at the Panjab University Inter-College Boxing Tournament 2016-17. Multiple students won Silver and Bronze medals, and six students were selected for the All India Boxing Inter-Varsity Camp 2016-17. Notably, Sandeep Duggal has a distinguished national boxing record including a National Gold Medal in 2009.
