Sant Hari Singh Memorial Library was established in 1946 in consonance with the vision of founder President Sant Baba Hari Singh Ji, to serve socially and educationally backward people of this rural Kandi area. The Library Resource Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, integrated with Campus Analyzer software installed on a DELL (EMC) PowerEdge T440 Server. Housed across the Ground floor and First floor, it holds over 90,000+ books, 295 CD/DVDs, 42 journals & magazines and 11 newspapers. It holds institutional membership with INFLIBNET N-LIST, DELNET, and the National Digital Library of India (NDLI). Remote access is provided to users with login credentials for e-resources and online feedback forms allow students to provide input.

Library Rules & Regulations

Rules applicable to all students and borrowers

  1. No student is permitted to enter the library without his/her Identity-cum-Library Card.
  2. Not more than two books are issued to a student for a period of 14 days. A fine of Rs. 1/- per day, per book is charged after the due date.
  3. Library books should not be passed on to any guest or friend.
  4. Loss or damage to library books (scratching, over-writing, tearing) renders the borrower liable to exemplary fine and disciplinary action, plus replacement within 14 days (else double the price is charged).
  5. Students are advised to observe perfect silence in the library-cum-reading room.
  6. Reference Books and current periodicals shall not be issued for home use.
  7. Loss of Identity-cum-Library Card should be immediately reported to the librarian to prevent misuse.
  8. A book issued can be recalled any time by the librarian without prior notice.
  9. The library is closed once a year for stock checking. All borrowed books must be returned when notified.
  10. The library shall remain open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM during regular working sessions.
