About the P.G. Department of Computer Science & IT

It was the first ever college in the state of Punjab to introduce Computer Science as an elective subject in BA/B.Sc. level classes from 1993 when the ‘Computer Education’ was just knocking at the doors of India.

—And after successful experience, the worthy management of this college decided to add Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications in session 2007-08.

—We are also happy to announce that we had introduced a job oriented course BCA [Bachelor of Computer Applications] in 2008-09 and M.Sc.-IT in 2012-13 academic session and have been running the same with great success.

—As we know The Computer Science Department started functioning from 1993. It is meant to keep students updated with the latest computer technology in every field. The PG Department of Computer Science & IT offers high quality under-graduate and post-graduate teaching in the major areas of Computer Science. Over the last 2 decades computers have sparked a revolution in education. It has established itself as a highly interactive learning tool, used in all walks of life. The training in computers offers a wide spectrum of opportunities in many other fields besides teaching, such as e.g. in Commerce, Medical Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Fashion Designing, Software Developing etc.

—Highly empowered and dedicated faculty of our Department has been imparting practical based computer knowledge to the students.

A student shall be eligible to opt the subject of Computer Science at the B.A./B.Sc. level if he/ she has passed the +2 examination with Science/ Commerce/ Economics/ Mathematics/ and Computer related subjects like Computer/ Information Technology etc. as one of the elective or optional subjects.

Mr. Sarbjit Singh (Lab Technician) trained the students about maintenance of computer hardware and software. Computer Maintenance and Network Concepts is the way to teach the students, how to clean the computer from dust and how it effects on computer system. It also introduce the live network equipment and their working.
